Halloween is a beloved holiday for many Foothill students. Ashika Deshmukh [11], a member of the school's Jazz choir, enjoys celebrating the spooky season with the school community. "I love Halloween at Foothill because I feel like dressing up is a great way for everyone to express themselves, and it's fun to see what everyone will dress up as because it really tells you a lot about them. Also, I obviously love the fact that we get a minimum day. Specifically as a choir student, singing at the haunted house is such a fun experience. It helps us as a choir grow closer and bond, and it's also just so fun to sing songs based on the theme of the haunted house," Deshmukh said. From singing along to classic Halloween tunes or spending the evening trick-or-treating with friends, Halloween is an opportunity for the Foothill community to bond with other students. Aarnav Gupta [12] explains his point of view of Halloween in his community. "I think Halloween brings people together because it's one of the only days of the year where people can express their creativity in such an open and unique way! Dressing up allows people to bond over their creativity and groups of people can come together with unique themes and ideas," Gupta said. Halloween is undoubtedly a cherished holiday for the Foothill community. As October ends, students gather to celebrate not just the spookiest night of the year, but also their own artistry.
