Lights, Camera, Action!

Foothill Leadership brought Hollywood to Foothill this year through the annual Homecoming dance, which was celebrated with enthusiasm, shown by both attending students and the creative team who put it together. Prior to the dance, excitement was built throughout the week through the HOCO rally, where classes competed in a variety of games to earn class points. The seniors claimed yet another rally victory by cheering for their classmates, participating in games, and showing up in their HOCO spirit. Anticipation culminated on the night of the dance, where over a thousand students gathered under colorful lights and lively music to dance, socialize, and take photos with friends. Leadership student Alivia Wang [9] shared her eagerness for her first Homecoming. "HOCO was very, very good! I really liked it and it was very hype and the food was yummy," Wang said. Alivia's fresh perspective accurately reflects the energetic atmosphere that all Falcons could feel on HOCO night. Another notable feature of this year's Homecoming dance was the profusion of themed decoration. From colorful collages of posters covering the cafeteria walls to the red carpets draping from the balcony of the K-building, there was no doubt that the Oscar for "Best Decorated Campus" would go to Foothill. Nessa Kapeliukhovska [10] remarks on yet another notable piece of decoration, stating, "The Hollywood sign was a very good spot for pictures." As the night concluded with the announcement of this year's Homecoming Royalty, students celebrated not only their classes' respective winners, but the success of the biggest school-sanctioned event of the year.
