Foothill Leadership Puts Their Best Falcon Foot Forward at TVLC 2026
To mark the beginning of the second semester, the Leadership team from Foothill High School attended the annual Tri-Valley Leadership Conference (TVLC), hosted this year by Monte Vista High School in Danville, California. The conference brought together leadership students from numerous East Bay high schools for a full day of collaboration, spirited activities, and the exchange of ideas regarding school spirit. Throughout the day, students participated enthusiastically in rallies and group activities designed to build leadership skills and generate new ideas that could be brought back to their own schools. Foothill students learned new Falcon chants and discussed strategies for increasing student engagement and spirit at future campus events. "The rallies at the beginning and end of the day were probably my favorite part," Alivia Wang [9] said. Each year, TVLC features a theme that guides schools' performances and spirit presentations. The 2026 conference assigned each school a music genre. Foothill represented the 1960s, producing a video inspired by the classic film Grease. The project was organized by Foothill's Leadership ASB officers and Junior Class officers, who coordinated filming, acting, and costumes to fully capture the era's classic style. However, the most meaningful aspect of TVLC for many students was the opportunity to connect with peers from other schools. Because all attendees were members of leadership classes, the atmosphere was particularly energetic, with students dressed in their school colors and proudly representing their campuses. "It's funny how similar both Foothill and Amador are," Eliana Caro [12], a student at Amador Valley High School, said. "We heard all sorts of stories about other schools that we could never imagine happening at either of ours," Caro stated. Students also enjoyed lunch from Chick-fil-A and spent time exploring Monte Vista's campus, meeting students from new schools, and participating in recreational activities such as volleyball in the quad. For Foothill Leadership students, TVLC remains one of the most anticipated field trips of the year, offering an experience that combines learning, collaboration, and the most hyped school spirit all in one place!
