Foothill Begins Campus-Wide Renovations
This year, it won't just be the freshmen who are learning how to navigate a new campus. Foothill has started renovating the gym and creating a brand-new theatre. The removal of the F building this past summer marked the start of Foothill's journey to create an innovative, exciting, and captivating campus for all students and faculty.
Principal Sebastian Bull, along with the Foothill community, is optimistic about the future changes for the school. "We are excited at Foothill for the construction project funded by the Measure I bond that was passed by Pleasanton voters. The overall project is about $68 million dollars and will take just over 2 years to complete," Mr. Bull said. Over the course of those couple years, the students will be able to watch the features of the construction unfold. This includes a new performing arts center, new classrooms, locker rooms, and a turf field behind the large and small gym. Not only will these create new spaces for PE classes and sports teams, but it will also grant performing arts students access to their specific facilities. But even if you don't play a sport or participate in the arts, all Falcons alike will soon be able to experience the wonders of a new environment alongside the comfort of a familiar place. For now, it is important to remember that although the remodeling has created a few detours for some, including the temporary shift to portable locker rooms, the exciting outcomes of the project will undoubtedly make the adjustments worth it. "It will cause some disruption for the normal flow on campus, but it will be a transformational project that will make this campus an even better place than it already is," Mr. Bull said.
