Buddies and Bunnies: Wellness Week at Foothill

As students walked out of fourth period during the week of October 20th, they could find therapy dogs, trivia games, and even farm animals waiting for them in the Quad. This month, Foothill's Peer Advocates hosted Wellness Week to bring awareness to the importance of intellectual, environmental, emotional, physical, and social wellness. While many students found joy in making bracelets with their friends or spending time with goats and bunnies, Sana Tandon [12], a Peer Advocate, explains why the motivated group of students enjoys preparing for the much-anticipated weeks. "As a Peer Advocate, I genuinely look forward to Wellness Week. It's rewarding to see the positive impact it has on campus, especially when people are excited to see what new activities await each day. The whole process, from prepping trivia questions to choosing activities, lets us grow individually and as a team. And even though we do it for the program, I always end up learning something from Wellness Week that I then incorporate into my own life," Tandon said. As the Peer Advocates share how each student can promote their overall well-being, they themselves learn new lessons and build lasting friendships. For both peers and Peer Advocates, Wellness Week offers an opportunity for all students in the school community to bond over fun activities and furry friends.
